Grab your favorite drink and cuddle up in a cozy blanket because… I am back! You might have noticed I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. That’s a break I really needed after six years of continuously blogging. Don’t get me wrong: I absolutely adore blogging but sometimes it’s healthy to take a break, especially when you’re in too much of a routine. So, I just wanted to let you know I will be blogging weekly on here, like you’re used to from me, and I will start playing around with shorter blog posts and a slight different lay-out. All in all, this is just an updated version of Thoughts in Style, which fits my style and what I like even better now. Oh, did you notice the new logo? I was playing around with it and love this!
Since I haven’t written something in about a month, of course I have a lot to share! I will update you with what I’ve been up to lately accompanied by these photos I took when it was snowing.

Let’s start with the fact that it finally snowed and it was cold enough for the snow to stay. When I saw the weather forecast, I kept checking the weather app to see if it would actually snow where I live. And on Saturday January 16 it was the day. It started snowing and my dad and I went to this pretty nature landscape near us. That was a really good idea on my part (if I say so myself) because look at the photos. A thin layer of snow with the pampas grass, wooden deck, grass and bridges. Definitely a well spent snow afternoon if you ask me.

What I’ve been up to lately:
Cleaned out my room (a lot). Why haven’t I released I am such a hoarder when it comes to things like birthday cards and cute packaging? So, most of that stuff is now recycled.
Spending hours and hours scrolling through Pinterest because I was in such need of inspiration. I think Pinterest and Instagram are great platforms when you feel uninspired. I pinned and saved so many posts. Before writing this, I actually scrolled through my pins and saved posts for some inspiration!
Focussing on the things I can do, instead of what I can’t do because of the current world situation. That’s hard but I am so grateful I am still able to work from home and enjoy nature while going on walks.
I actually started reading again. Some influencers have started book clubs the past year and I had screen shotted some that caught my eye. Suddenly I just felt like reading and I ordered about 7 or 8 books? I’ve already finished one: ‘The Midnight Library‘ by Matt Haig.
My verdict on the book: ★★★★☆ (I finished the book in less than two weeks so yeah)

Lockdown loading…
And then there was the lockdown. Yes, that’s also something that happened during this ‘break’. Ugh. That’s how I would describe it. When it all started back in March, who thought we would still be here, almost a year later? A. Year. Definitely not me. But I have been making the best of it (with all my cleaning) and still keep in contact with all my friends and family, so that’s good! We’re all in this together (who else started singing the HSM song?) and we can do this.

For now I hope there will be more beautiful days (like this snow day one) where I can take photos outside. I love experimenting with the places nearby my home for photography. Mostly I would take photos when I’m in the city centre of Leiden, so with this lockdown, it has become more of a challenge (which I like to be honest). Besides that, I am excited to start working on new posts again. I already have a list in mind with things I want to share on here. But if you have any suggestions or requests what you want to read, feel free to let me know. Like I’ve said, you can never have enough inspiration so bring it on!
Love,
Neeltje
