Unfortunately school has started again and everybody has to get back to reality. The best part about going back to school is the shopping (I made a post about this last year) but you also have to create a relaxed place in your room where you are able to concentrate and study. Like the title of this post says “An organized desk creates an organized mind” and that’s true. The first step is you have to start off with a tidy room and desk. But how do you keep your desk organized all the time?
To help me stay organized and focussed on what I need to do, I made this very simple organizer and put it above my desk. I used wire mesh, which is mostly used in the garden to make sure plants have something to help them grow straight. This time I sprayed it white, cut it to the right size and put it above my desk. After that you can use little clothing pins to put up things that you need to do or fun cards that you don’t want laying on your desk (like I did).
When I am studying I don’t want to get my phone to see what the date is because I will end up checking Instagram or Facebook and all of the sudden it will be three hours later. Does this sound familiar? That’s why I think it’s important to have some type of calendar on my desk. So I went on Pinterest and looked for some free downloadable calendars. I saw so many but this one turned out to be my favorite. I printed it and put it on this black clipboard, which I got from IKEA.
One thing (besides lots of notebooks) you will always find around my room and on my desk are inspirational quotes. I find new quotes I like every single day. Quotes keep me motivated while I am studying or writing assignments for school.
The quote I have on my desk at the moment is actually a card from Keck & Lisa with a flamingo and it says “Sending you some happiness” because you’ll need that while studying. I change the quote in this frame every once in awhile if I find another quote that I think is inspiring. Most of the time I will find that one of Weheartit or Tumblr. I will print one, put it in a frame and just put it in a place where I can see it, like on my desk. And when I feel uninspired or not motivated anymore, I just look at the quote and I am ready to study some more.
You can never have enough notebooks right? At least I think you can never have enough haha. Anyways, in this last easy DIY I will show you how I made these little notebooks a bit more fun and personal. I got three little paper notebooks from Hema. When I got home, I felt like being creative and looked up some designs to put on them. On one I drew this “Plants are friends” Brandy Melville inspired design and on another I wrote “Nothing worth having comes easy”. Yes, another quote I know but I think it’s a good motivational quote.
Tadaa, these were all of the DIY’s I came up with to make your life hopefully a bit more organized. I always try to keep my desk tidy but I think the things I created will keep it that way. The organizer above my desk has to be my favorite thing at the moment because I put put some photo booth photos, my business card (which I need to update) and a Levi’s thing. When I get some assignments, I am definitely going to use it to pin To Do things on it. What is your favorite DIY? Are you going to try to make one on these?
