Being Creative Is Not A Hobby, It’s A Way Of Life | Event: Creative Life, Utrecht

You might remember that I went to Flavourites Feest last year. At the beginning of this year I saw they were organizing another event at the same location as Flavourites Feest, called Creative Life. I had been following them on Instagram for awhile now and I convinced Eline to come with me. So on March 23 we went to Utrecht to visit it and here you’ll read all about the event, see what it looked like and the stands I loved!

Creative Life is an event organized by and for creative minds. The name already gives it away but the organization wants to put an creative and inspirational event together. At Creative Life small businesses and webshops have a place to share their creativity and sell their products. As a visitor of the event you don’t only get to see their products but also get to know the story behind the business and/or product.

Besides that, during the three day event you were also able to follow workshops. Like workshops how to make your own bralette, how to start hand & brush lettering, make a aquarelle birds and more. I would have loved to do a workshop but maybe I will do that next time!

I just want to take a moment in this blog post to appreciate the beautiful design of the whole event. In the photos of this post you kind of get the idea what the event looked like. The whole event was based around a bohemian and pink kind of vibe. I absolutely loved it. I mean, just look at all of the photos!

Besides all of the different stands where people displayed their products or work, they also created like a ‘chill’ area, Creative Living, to sit down and take it all in. I thought this was a really good idea because it can be a lot to get so much inspiration thrown at you. Around they make these little nooks to sit but they were also very photogenic. Even more inspiration right there, only on the interior front.

While walking through the event, Eline and I saw a couple of stands we wanted to see again. So in the end we went to some of the stands again. I got to know so many new businesses and my three favorites I just have to share with you as well.

Inkylines. I am so glad I found Inkylines at Creative Life. They make and draw very detailed and minimalistic designs. They mostly do this just by using a fine liner. I was looking at their stand through all of the different prints and I loved all of them. In the end I bought a butterfly and monstera print. Both got their own spot in my room and I can’t wait to show them to you.

Soort van winkel. This stand was just crazy, because the stand was actually located in a small van. In the photos above you can’t really tell but it was amazing to see. Soort van winkel sells everything from prints to cards, and jewelry to interior pieces.

Kesemy Design. Here I saw these small plates with quotes on them. How cute! Kesemy Design is a business based around unique handmade ceramic pieces. In the photos below you can see a pretty big selection of their products. I just love the unique look of the pieces. I would love to do a workshop at their studio to make one myself.

When Eline and I first got there I thought it would be pretty much the same as the last event in Werkspoorkathedraal but it definitely wasn’t. Creative Life was so big and there was a big diversity of stands, which made it fun to keep wandering around and looking at things. Since Eline and I wanted to have lunch in the centre of Utrecht, we didn’t really take a look at the food corner. We did walk around and there was so much to choose from. That’s always a big plus whenever you go to an event. As you can tell from this post, I was (and still am) very enthusiastic about this event and I got tons of inspiration from it. I hope you did as well thought this blog post! Have you ever been to Creative Life? What do you think of these type of events?

Love,

Neeltje

This event seems to be really interesting and aesthetic. I loved the designs on your photos. Also, by the way, I’m so curious about Utrecht. I applied for an exchange program there but I was assigned in Italy, instead. It was still fun though! 🙂

Jaa he! Haha het is natuurlijk altijd leuk om gewoon te klooien en creatief bezig te zijn zonder dat er iets bijzonders uitkomt 🙂
