Even The Leaves Fall For You | Loves Lately

It has been a while since I posted my last ‘Loves Lately’ blog post. I think these are the most fun to write since I get to talk about my favorite things the last month(s). These things are mostly new products or experiences. This post features cupcakes, an event and new workout I tried!

After Unseen Photo Fair was finished, my friends and I felt like getting some cupcakes. So I went on the internet to see if there was a cupcake place nearby. Van Ness Cupcake popped up and we decided to go there! It’s such a cute little place where you can get cupcakes. They have different flavors and I got Vanilla Sprinkles (definitely my favorite), Red Velvet and Chocolate & Vanilla. In Washington D.C. I went to Georgetown Cupcake and these cupcakes reminded me a lot of the cupcakes there. Van Ness Cupcake is definitely a hotspot you should visit!

At the beginning of this month I went to NSMBL Festival with Elba. In one of my previous blog posts I talked all about what it looked like and what stands where there. This is one of my ‘Loves’ since it was a perfect festival to attend with my best friend. We don’t see each other a lot so a festival where we can shop, eat and catch up is perfect.

I’ve wanted to start working out again but it’s hard to find time and motivation. So a couple of weeks ago I decided to do a work out at home every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Since I always feel like trying new things, I decided to get a hula hoop from Hoop It Yourself. I’ve wanted to get one for a long time and I just felt like getting it. I bought the Classic No.5 Hoop and since I got it, I love to just start hula hooping and watch series at the same time.

Throughout the day I don’t drink enough water but staying hydrated is very important. I always need to remind myself to keep drinking water. So when I got contacted by XD Design, I saw they have these fruit infuser water bottles. These kind of bottles are great to have because you can use them as a normal water bottle or also put fruit in it. The filter will made sure you will only drink the fruit infused water and not the fruit.

I never really talk about technical stuff or gadgets but this one is definitely life saver! Since I got my iPhone, I started to notice that the battery doesn’t last that long. The most annoying thing in the world is having your battery at 20% when it’s not even 3:00 PM yet. That’s the reason why I wanted a portable charger for such a long time. So when I got a powerbank from XD Design, I put it in my bag and won’t leave the house without it anymore. Trust me, your life isn’t complete without one.

If you’ve read my ‘ten things you might not know about me’ tag, then you know that I’ve been in ballet for over ten years. Last year I had to make the very difficult decision to really go for ballet or quit. After thinking about it for a really really long time, I decided it would be best if I quit ballet. School is taking up so much time and that is the most important thing right now. Since I am not able to dance myself, why not go to a ballet performance and watch it? I’ve always wanted to go to Giselle and finally got to go! It was such an elegant, impressive and amazing performance.

I am always on the hunt for new YouTubers to watch and the past couple of weeks I’ve been enjoying one especially. For all of my Dutchies out there, you should definitely check the weekly vlogs from the Blonde Tigers. They are two sister who live in New York City and they are absolutely hilarious. Perfect to watch on a lazy Sunday, don’t you think?

And these were already all of the loves I’ve had lately! Of course I have lots of things I loved during the last month(s) but these were definitely my absolute favorites. I am already looking forward to writing another one of these pretty soon. What do you think about my ‘loves’? What is yours at the moment?

Giving up dance is such a hard thing – I was in ballet for thirteen years and when I finally gave it up, it was because I moved away from the city where I danced. Even then, it was still sad and I love to go to the ballet as much as I can to hold onto those wonderful memories.
