Crystals, something I have been very interested in for a couple of months now. I first came in contact with crystals when I was very little. A couple of months ago I found an article about crystals, when I remembered I actually used to own them. Literally that same week I across a small crystal store in Utrecht and it felt like faith haha. Since this has been on my mind for the past months, I wanted to share some of my thoughts and information about crystals on Thoughts in Style. Hopefully you’ll have an open mind and enjoy this post! 🔮
I do want to say, I am not an expert by any means. I am still learning all about crystals (like the different chakra and cleansing & charging crystals). That’s why it’s always good to do a little of your own research as well or check the sources I’ve just for this post.
⟡ What are crystals & how do they work? ⟡
Crystal /ˈkrɪst(ə)l/: A piece of a homogeneous solid substance having a natural geometrically regular form with symmetrically arranged plane faces.
The definition I found about crystals in the dictionary is very generic and vague. Yulia van Doren uses this definition is her book: “Crystals generally refer to minerals with a visible crystallized form. This means that they show a faceted, symmetrical or asymmetrical, three-dimensional, geometric form.” This talks about how you can recognize crystals. But crystals don’t only look pretty, they also have powers. Crystals do this with a powerful combination of vibrational balancing, colour healing and talismanic magic. Since this is difficult to explain in this post, I recommend reading books and/or articles about this to understand the power that crystals have.
You can buy crystals if you are interested in their power and/or because you feel attracted to them. I think it’s important that I really feel attracted to them because for me it means that this crystal is something I need at that specific moment in time.
⟡ How to use crystals ⟡
Now that you own crystals, what do you do with them? Well, there are different things you can do with crystals. First, you can make a place in your room where you can keep your crystals. That’s what I like to do, but not just in one place . Second, if you feel you can use the healing of a crystal at all time, you can keep them on you, in the form of jewelry pieces. Third, since I started collecting crystals, I also started researching them. That’s when I discovered they are also great to use while meditating. 🧘♀️ This is something I want to try doing as well.
⟡ My favorites & their meaning ⟡
Like with everything else, I do have a couple of favorite crystals at the moment. Besides discussing why I got them, I also give a small summary of what the meaning of these crystals is.
… Rose Quartz.
You will recognize Rose Quartz immediately because it’s always pink. A lot of people are attracted to this stone because it represents unconditional love. The stone teaches us to love ourselves and acceptance. I read that whenever Rose Quartz shows up in your life, whether you get it, find it or someone recommends it, it’s a sign you are entering a change and Rose Quartz will help with accepting this particular change in your life. This is one of the stones that’s recommended as an essential.
… Clear Quartz.
Like the name already says, it’s a clear or cloudy stone. You can get them polished, in a cluster or as a raw stone. Besides the Rose Quartz, the Clear Quartz is also a very well-known quartz, which is also an absolute essential in your crystal collection. That’s because it’s the most powerful healing and energy amplifying stone on earth.
… Pyrite.
The first time I saw pyrite was when Claudia Sulewski got this big round beautiful piece of Pyrite and I just felt attracted to it. Pyrite has this metallic gold color because of oxidation and can get pretty shiny if you get it in raw pieces (it’s als available in square blocks). Pyrite is for confidence, luck, abundance, productivity and creativity. Now I understood why I was so interested in this shiny crystal. It’s still one of my favorites to just hold in the light and look at.
… Opalite.
Opalite is a crystal that just has me mesmerized. Mine has kind of a milky color but when you hold it in any type of light, you can see almost every color of the rainbow. Opalite makes you happy, optimistic, lively, spontaneous, original, creative and appreciative. It’s a protective and activating stone. It’s encouraging itself and not to give up or limit yourself when it comes to the dream you have. So Opalite also has a big connection with love, self love in this case. Since there are also other types of Opalite (different colors), they also have their own characteristics (which are very interesting to look into as well).
I know this was a very different subject than what I normally write about. But since I have been so interested in this, I just really wanted to write a blog post and share it with you. Maybe after reading this, I got you interested as well. Let me know if you want me to write more about these kinds of things (or not haha). This is probably my favourite blog post that has ever been made. I’ve always had a collection of crystals just because they’re pretty, and I had a couple I liked to use for protection after scary movies but lately I’ve become so obsessed with the uses of crystals and like to use them in meditation or sleep with one under my pillow.

Wat tof om te lezen ik ben ook een kristallen fan! en ik heb sinds een paar maanden ook een complete stash.. oeps! binnenkort ga ik er een video van opnemen.
