It is just me or is it so hard to remember what day it is during summer? I just keep asking everyone what day it is haha. Anyways, most of the time during summer I don’t like to have too many things planned. That’s because when I plan too much, it doesn’t feel like a relaxed summer. But that’s kind of hard for me as well. I am a planner and that’s why I want to share a couple of things I want to and am going to do during this summer but also some (cheap) ideas what you can do as well, aka my summer plans! ☀️
This summer I will be traveling to…
… Paris. I think I’ve told this a couple of times, but I have been to Paris before. Once with my family and the other time for work. Both times I loved seeing this city, so when Lotte and I were looking for a place to go, we thought of Paris! It’s a city filled with beautiful architecture, sights and photo opportunities (very important haha). We will be in Paris from July 29 until August 2.
… Berlin. Besides Paris, I have also been to Berlin before. This was a very long time ago with my family and this year we wanted to make a city trip again, so we thought of Berlin. Since I can’t really remember what we did and saw last time, I am very excited about exploring this city again.
For both cities I already have made a list of places I want to see, but if you have any recommendations, please me know! Here you’ll get two travel diaries about my trips as well. But if you want to know what I am doing and seeing in both cities before I post that on here, you should definitely follow me on Instagram! ✈️
When I am home this summer I will be…
… working. Yes, working is pretty important since I want to make and save money for different purposes. That’s why I will also be working during the summer. Sometimes serving at the restaurant I’ve been working at for five years now, babysitting or working as an content & marketing manager. It’s kind of a crazy combination, I know. But a girls gotta do what’s she’s got to do.
… making small changes to my room. Last year I decided I wanted to change the color of my walls from pink to white. I just felt like refreshing my room. I actually bought the white paint, but I haven’t got around to painting the walls yet… So that’s something I want to do during summer. Besides that, I also want to change some other small things, like add some color to my room with flowers. Since I am very busy during summer, it’s way easier for me to order flowers online. I actually received this beautiful boutique of flowers and monstera leaves from Greetz. They have such a big selection of flowers, which you can order for yourself but also send to someone for their birthday!
… relaxing. This is something I hope to do more this summer. Most of the time I am so busy with doing all kinds of things, that there’s hardly any time to relax. Hopefully the weather will be nice so I can go to the beach as well!
Some ideas to do this summer…
#1 || Organize a picnic. Last year I made a blog post about how to organize a summer picnic and it’s such a fun thing to do with friends. Just make sure everyone brings some food and drinks, go to a park and enjoy! You can make it as big as you want and it’s a cheap alternative to going out to dinner, for example.
#2 || Go on a staycation. If you haven’t made any plans for this summer yet, you should definitely plan a staycation with your friends. I bet there are so many places in your country where you haven’t been. Pick a place you can drive to and just explore!
#3 || Visit a museum. There are so many different museums all over the world. I have always been really into visiting museums because I like art and it inspires me every time. I went to Rijksmuseum and FOAM, both museums are located in Amsterdam, and I really recommend visiting them.
I am so excited to see what this summer will bring! 🌴 Like I said before, if you want to follow what I am doing earlier than when you’ll see it on here, you can always follow me on Instagram @neeltjethoughts… I will post there a lot, but I won’t spam you, I promise. Besides that, there will change a couple of things for me after I come back from my trips, but I will share that with you in another blog post. For now, have a lovely summer and relax! What are your plans for summer? What are you most looking forward to?
