“Santa Claus is coming to town.” ⭐ I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas! Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday and I always look forward to it but this year it suddenly was almost here. So now I try to enjoy it to the fullest while I still can. Listen to tons of Christmas music and finally decorate my room as well. Besides that, I have to start thinking about what I want to wear at our Christmas dinner… This is always a tough choice so that’s why I have made a list of my Christmas essentials for this year!
Burgundy Glitter Top: Pieces | Velvet Blazer: ONLY
✰ Glitter Top ✰
The holiday season just isn’t complete without glitter. No, there has to be a little glitter somewhere in your clothing or makeup to sparkle during Christmas dinner. A glitter top is just a ‘must’. I own a couple sweater with glitter in them but they aren’t really appropriate for Christmas dinner. Those type of sweaters are more for the days after Christmas when you just want to cuddle up on the couch and relax. Anyways, I found the perfect glitter top and it’s this lovely burgundy color (not black, which is perfect because I tend to wear too many black clothing items haha).
✰ Velvet Blazer ✰
Besides glitter, velvet is also something that belongs to the festive season. Velvet items have this chic look, which add something extra to an outfit. If you aren’t really into wearing ‘cute’ dresses for Christmas dinner (like me), you can also wear a simple casual outfit and just wear it with a velvet blazer. A velvet blazer like mine will make your outfit immediately more appropriate for the holidays!
Dotted Wrap Blouse: Pieces
✰ Dotted Wrap Blouse ✰
I talked about wrap blouses in another essentials post, because they are just the best thing. If you don’t own a wrap blouse, go online, go to a shop and find yourself one. For my college graduation I wore a dark green wrap blouse but I also wanted to get one for the holidays that was a little bit more festive. When I saw a girl wearing this dotted wrap blouse on Instagram, I immediately started looking for it online. At first it was sold out everywhere (which I understand since it’s a cute blouse) but I did find it somehow and got it! It’s a blouse I can wear during Christmas but I can also just wear it with a pair of jeans (and dress it down in a sense). Oh, it is kind of see-through so I wear a cute lace top underneath to make my outfit complete.
Black Booties: Omoda
✰ Black Heels/Boots ✰
What are the perfect shoes to wear during Christmas? A pair of black shoes of course. If you’re like me and not really into high heels, just go for a pair of dressy boots. I own this pair of black boots with a heel and they are so comfortable. So I actually have the best of both worlds because they do have a heel but aren’t super uncomfortable and make me have cold feet the entire time (because most heels are open).
✰ Jewelry ✰
To make any Christmas outfit complete, jewelry is needed. As everyone knows, I never leave the house without my staple jewelry pieces. I usually wear the necklace I got for my birthday last year, with a pair of small earrings and maybe a ring. During the holidays I tend to wear different jewelry pieces that are a little more out there, like wearing all different earrings and layering a couple of necklaces. This Christmas I will also be wearing my new ring I got at Mulberry & Grand in New York!
Star Necklace: ANNA+NINA | Ball Earrings: Moonloft | Opal Ring: Mulberry & Grand
When you have figured out what your essentials are for Christmas, it’s time to sparkle! I can’t wait to dress more festive because then I will feel like it will actually be Christmas. I am not really sure what to wear yet but it will definitely be one of the items I’ve listed in this post. Have you already picked out an outfit for Christmas? What’s your ultimate Christmas essential?
