On Instagram I saw that Flavourites would organize another event this year to celebrate their ten year anniversary. Attending their event has been on my list since last year so when I saw I was able to enter a giveaway from LOUDCLOUD to win tickets for Flavourites. I just decided to enter and funny thing, I actually won! So on May 20 Lotte and I went to Flavourites Feest in Utrecht and in this post you’ll read all about it ?
Flavourites started in 2007 as a platform to collect the most lovely webshops in one place. Since 2009 they also started doing a yearly event in Amsterdam where people could actually get in touch with their favorite webshops. Most of the time this event is called Flavourites Live but since this was an anniversary, it was called Flavourites Feest.
But what’s there to do at this event? Well, a lot. First of all the location was pretty awesome. The Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht is a really cool industrial location, which gives the event that extra touch. Lots of webshops had their own stand where you can shop at, there were also food places and you were able to do workshops. Why I went to Flavourites Feest is mainly because I wanted to get inspired and that’s definitely what happened.
I wanted to mention some of the unique stands I saw and new webshops I’ve discovered, to start with Brainy Days. I believe I’ve been following them on Instagram for a while and that’s why I was really excited to see a selection of their products in real life, like jewelry pieces, air plants, clothing items and more. As you can see in the photos above the theme of their stand had something to do with jungle vibes, which I absolutely loved.
Besides Brainy Days, I also discovered lots of webshops I hadn’t heard of before. First off Little Mish Mash, which is a webshop that sells handmade home kids & party goodies. They had the most awesome wooden garlands and signs at their stand. Really cute for a baby room or just for your home. Next there was this little car located in the middle of Flavourites Feest (which you can see in the photos below) from Knap Goed. In and around the car were tons of unique decor items. A great stand for vintage lovers. And then we also found the ultimate stationery stand from Dreamkey Design. I didn’t buy anything from them yet, but I will definitely keep Dreamkey Design in mind whenever I need new stationery because everything is so cute!
Lastly there were also two stands with plants that I really liked. First off, De Zussen Van Zelf. They are a botanical webshop with lots of handmade terrariums and unique pieces made out of wood. And then I found the ultimate plant stand for me, a stand filled with air plants from Luchtplantjes! I was so excited because I really like air plants at the moment and this was the perfect time to look for a new one… ?
When Lotte and I had a look at all the different stands, we had made a note in our minds of the stands we wanted to look at again and maybe buy something. In the end I only bought a new air plant (surprise) from Luchtplantjes. It wasn’t only the air plant, it also came with a glass ornament and clear thread to hang the air plant. Besides that we also got three really cute notebooks, which were especially made for Flavourites by Tinne+Mia. Now I can add these to my little notebook collection.
I really like events like this because you get to discover so many new brands and webshops. Lotte and I didn’t spend that much time at Flavourites because we were very early and then it was easy for us to walk through the whole event. We also do this when we go shopping. First we scan everything, then we go to the stores we want (in this case the stands we like) and in the end we might buy something. Anyways, we did really like this event and I will put this on my list to visit maybe next time! What do you think of this event? Have you ever been to Flavourites?
