Nothing Will Work Unless You Do | Inspiration: Organization & Productivity

Now that I am officially graduated from college, life has kind of been weird. For the past years I’ve always been in school or studying and now I am not. Luckily I have been working tons so it’s not like I have nothing to do, which is good. Anyways, I decided it would be a great idea to share some of my tips when it comes to organization and productivity, because I know how hard that can be. 👩🏻‍💻

⌇ How I stay organized ⌇

While studying or working, not only your workspace but also everything in your head can get very messy. That’s why I always make sure to write my thoughts down so I don’t forget anything. Of course you can do that in a simple notebook but lately I’ve been using the Dear Diary Undated Daily Agenda.

This planner gives you a great overview for every day, week and month. This way you can set different goals to motivate yourself. Besides the daily planning, you can make to-do lists, reflect on your tasks and track your habits. Oh, and if you’re feeling uninspired or unmotivated, just look through all of the inspiring quotes in the planner. I think it’s a great planner for any girlboss, just because there’s space everything you want to write down.

⌇ How to be more productive ⌇

Now that you have gotten more organized, it’s time to get more productive. If there is one thing I am really good at, it’s definitely procrastinating. Since I know I tend to do that, I have made a list of four things I do to be more productive.

Make a to-do list. Productivity always starts with making a to-do list. This way you have an overview of all of the tasks you need to do. You can use the Dear Diary agenda, like me, or use an application, such as Wunderlist.

Prioritize, prioritize and prioritize. Putting too much on your to-do list is very likely. That’s why you need to prioritize the tasks on your to-do list. Just ask yourself: What’s more important to do now? And why? This way you make the ultimate to-do list and be able to finish your to-do list as well.

Let’s get focussed. Since you want to be productive, you need to focus. This way you are able to do a lot more. Something I like to do is put on classical music. Classical music? Yes! Spotify has a couple of playlists I like to put on whenever I need to work on something, like this one.

Create a clean environment. Lastly, the environment you’re working in has a lot of influence on your productivity. Whenever your workspace is filled with notebooks, pencils and planners, it’s not really inspiring and gets your head messy as well. This won’t help to get more productive so definitely clean your desk and only put the things on there you’ll need while working on your to-do list.

These were the things I wanted to share when it comes to organization and productivity. I know I am not an expert since I am a big procrastinator, but over the years I’ve definitely learned a couple of things that helped me.     These are good tips for sure. Writing it down just guarantees that you’ll remember and do it. I really need to start using my planner again because I used to do it, but now I haven’t been. Because it is helpful for sure.
