Fall is all about early sunsets, warm tea ☕, messy hair and big sweaters. Most of these things I love, except for the early sunsets. Since there is so much more that I love about fall, I wanted to share some of the things I did during fall (besides working of course). This post is filled with pumpkins, cities I’ve wandered around, my graduation and more!
⟪ Amsterdam ⟫
While I was waiting to receive the results of my thesis, I went to Amsterdam a couple of different times. On a real fall day (since it was raining and that was when the leaves started falling from the trees) Eline and I went to the IJ-Hallen. I’ve told you about this flea market before but this time we didn’t find anything we liked. So instead we decided to have a tasty lunch at Metropolitan. I always see tons of photos from here on Instagram so of course we had to try it out ourselves. The food was good and I really liked the atmosphere of the place.
⟪ Getting Pumpkins ⟫
When I think of fall, I think of pumpkins. This year we went to Monique’s Pumpkin Factory in Lisse, The Netherlands to get some pumpkins. When you go to Monique’s Pumpkin Factory they have their front garden completely filled with pumpkins. With every type of pumpkin it says the price but also what it tastes like or a recipe of what you can make with it. My mom and I got a lot of different ones. I put a couple in my room and we used some of them to make pumpkin soup and a pie. 🎃
⟪ Haarlem ⟫
Even though I work in Haarlem, I don’t get to see a lot of the city. So on a lovely Sunday my parents and I went to Haarlem to go shopping and look for some fabric for me so my mom could make me a coat. But before we went to the market and look for fabric, we went to this store called Atelier 8. This is such a cute shop with tons of interior things I wanted to buy. In the end I only got two cards from there.
⟪ Fall Photography ⟫
Lotte and I have a spot where we always like to take photos. Not only outfit photos for my blog or for her business but also just of things in nature. Last year I did a post about winter featuring tons of photos I took at this spot as well. I bet you’ll see tons of these photos on my Instagram as well, since I love fall. 🍂
⟪ Utrecht ⟫
A week before my graduation, I had some outfit stress. I knew I didn’t want to wear a dress but what did I want to wear? So my parents and I decided to go to Utrecht for a day. We went into some different stores and eventually I found something I wanted to wear at Guts&Gusto. After that we just walked around for the city a little, like tourists haha. We had something to drink at Hop & Stork, saw the Dow Tower and had lunch somewhere. All in all, a lovely relaxing day.
⟪ Graduation ⟫
At the end of October something excited happened, I finally received my diploma. In September I already graduated but since then it still didn’t sink in that I had finished my studies. 👩🏻🎓 Right now it definitely has gotten a lot more real for me. Above you can see how we throw our graduation caps in the air. Can you spot me?
That was pretty much all I wanted to share with you in this little update post. I feel like I want to do more of these posts so you can get a look into my day to day life as well. It has been a crazy couple of weeks but I can’t wait for what is to come in the last month of 2017… That’s so crazy to think btw. Anyways, what did you do during fall? Is it your favorite season as well?
