Sunshine And Refreshing Drinks Every Day | Mocktails

Last year during summer I was kind of addicted to lemonade. 🍹 During my time in Athens, they would serve it like it was a cocktail. This got me thinking. I am not really into drinking alcohol, but I do like fresh drinks like mixed cocktails. That’s why I was looking for some mocktail recipes, which are cocktail kind of drinks but without the alcohol. I found two mocktails I really like and they are perfect for hot summer days. Enjoy!

“Why limit happy to an hour?”

🌱 NOJITO

What you’ll need | Sparkling water, half a lime (sliced into four or more wedges), 2 teaspoons of sugar (or agave), mint leaves and ice cubes (recipe).

How to | Start by cutting the lime in half and then slice this half into four wedges. Put these in your serving glass and add the sugar or agave (do keep in mind that the agave will change the color of your nojito so that’s why I chose to use sugar). Muddle this together until the juices of the lime wedges have come out and have mixed with the sugar. Now add the mint leaves to your serving glass. You can add however many you want to. Since my mint leaves were pretty small, I used a large amount of them. After that it is time to add the ice cubes and fill the glass with sparkling water. Voilà! Your very delicious noijto is ready to be served. ☀️

🍋 LEMON ROSE

What you’ll need | Water, 25 ml of lemon juice, agave (or sugar), half a lemon (slided into wedges), 20 ml cranberry juice, twig of rosemary and ice cubes (recipe).

How to | First fill your serving glass for about half with water and add the agave (or sugar). I do not have a certain amount of agave you need to add because this depends on how sweet you like your mocktail. When you’ve mixed the water and agave, add the lemon and cranberry juice to your serving glass. The cranberry juice will create the pink color of this mocktail. The more water you use, the lighter of color it will get. In the meantime, make sure the taste the mocktail so you know if you need to add some more agave or lemon juice. Lastly add the ice cubes, lemon wedges and rosemary twig to garnish your lemon rose mocktail, which is now ready to be consumed!

Above you can see the end result of both mocktails and don’t they look cute? I am so happy with how they turned out because they aren’t only good looking, they are both very refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. ? You can also make these mocktails into larger qualities, keep it in the fridge and serve whenever you like. Which one is your favorite? Have you ever made a mocktail?

Love,

Neeltje

  1. I love how photogenic the drinks are! And I’m so glad there’s someone else out there who doesn’t like alcohol. I don’t like the taste myself and order hot teas at bars because… well, I’m a grandma. πŸ˜‰

Wow! This post is my summer lifesaver! I am not a big fan of alcohol either because I am so light weighted. But I do love the taste of all those alcoholic summer drinks! I am going to try your recipe this weekend for sure! THANK YOU!

I’m trying to cut back on alcohol this summer, everytime the sun is shining you just gravitate toward yummy cocktails and rose wine and before you know it you find yourself drinking alcohol everyday! Mocktails are the perfect solution, and even more refreshing too! Love the way you photographed them!
