If I am not editing photos for my Instagram or blogging, you’ll find me playing around with different apps to edit my Instagram Stories. When Instagram first launched Instagram Stories, I never thought I would actually be sharing things I am doing at that specific moment. So… Since I am posting more and more on my Instagram Story, here’s a list of five of my fave apps to edit my photos and videos for my Instagram Stories!
⌇ SNAPSEED ⌇
When it comes to basic editing of photos, Snapseed is a must! You can easily edit the brightness, contrast, shadows and more. But Snapseed also has different filters you can use. When I first downloaded Snapseed, I had to get used to it and started playing around with all the filters. That’s when I discovered the filter I have been using for my Instagram Stories. You’ll find this filter under “Grainy film” and it’s called “X04”. It’s a subtle filter, but it looks really pretty (I think).
⌇ VSCO CAM ⌇
Ever since I started using Instagram, my go-to app has been VSCO Cam. VSCO Cam also has options like adjusting the brightness etcetera, but it also has tons of filters. At first all of their filters were free, but now most of them you can only use if you get a subscription… But luckily my favorite filters is one of the free filters: T1. It’s kind of ‘faded’ filter so I love to use this lightly on my photos. Besides that, there is also a feature on VSCO Cam called DSCO. This is kind of like Boomerang but slower and kind of like a stop motion effect. It looks cool, so you should definitely try it!
⌇ FILMM ⌇
On my Instagram Stories I used to only post photos and a Boomerang every once in awhile. But I do love to shoot videos. Whenever I travel, I take photos and videos and when I get home, I make a travel diary video of that city. I take all of these videos with my camera, but it’s a lot easier to take videos with my phone. But editing videos on my phone is very difficult and there aren’t many options when it comes to video editing. Until… Zoe Sugg & A Beautiful Mess launched Filmm App. With Filmm you are able to resize, cut, trim, adjust, add filters and also add sounds or music to your video. I love this! Just like VSCO Cam, you aren’t able to use all the filters, but I don’t mind. You have so many options when it comes to editing the videos, so you should definitely download it as well. In the end it’s very fun to post videos on your Instagram Stories, am I right?

⌇ UNFOLD ⌇
How to make your Instagram Stories a lot more fun? Use templates! One of the apps I use for templates is Unfold. I am sure everyone knows about this app but it has so many different templates you are able to add your photos and videos to. I love the templates of Unfold because they are mostly very vintage looking, which I love. This fits the vibe of my editing very well. When you download the app CS1 and FF1 are free to use. Since I love to add my photos to a template, I also bought RP1, with a rip effect on the sides of the photos, and DW1, with a computer screen effect. For the templates of DW1 it’s hard to explain what they look like, but if you see it, you’ll definitely understand what I am trying to say.
⌇ STORYLUXE ⌇
Another app to use for its templates and to post in your Instagram Story is Storyluxe. To be honest, I haven’t used to app much before. It’s pretty similar to Unfold, but there templates are a little different. They are mostly a border of a polaroid and with little tape on the sides, like you’ve put the photo in a photo album. Super cute!

These are the apps I am using at the moment whenever I want to post an Instagram Story! It’s not that I use all of these apps every single time. Some day I like to edit the photo and add them to a template and sometimes I will only edit it a little and then post it. During summer I hope I can post even more Stories, but I am sure I will, especially when I am in Vienna, Austria. Do you post Instagram Stories often? What’s your favorite app to edit your photos at the moment?
