This Is Not A Fashion Story, This Is A Story About My Favorites | Loves Lately

If I would ever write a book, it would start something like this: “I want to apologize in advance for the most random stories you’re going to be reading.” And that kind of also applies to my blog posts, but that’s what a personal blog is all about, right? I’ve said this before, but it’s so important to share love, even if it’s for random things, memories or items. So here you have another ‘Loves Lately’ featuring my favorite series to watch, tech items, workout, clothing item, book and beauty items. ♡

↣ WHAT I LOVE TO WATCH

Since I have been home a lot lately, I do have some more time to watch series, movies and documentaries. A couple of years ago I used to watch The Real Housewives Of NYC or Orange County or Beverly Hills all the time. When I found out I could watch most of these series on hayu, I signed up for a free month and discovered so many more series I had forgotten and am able to watch now. Since hayu has up to date episodes with the USA, I am sold and would recommend this to everyone.

Besides platforms to pay for, don’t forget about YouTube. There’s so much to watch, for example Whitney Port and her husband watching herself on The City. Does anyone still remembers this? After Whitney left The Hills, she got her own show, called The City, and I was living every girls dream: Living in NYC and working for a fashion brand. The commentary of her and her husband on her outfits and what’s happening is extremely funny. So, in for a good laugh and throwback? You can watch her videos here.

↣ MY FAVE TECH STUFF

Like everyone else, I can’t go without my phone. I knew I would be able to renew my phone subscription. So, that’s when I started saving for a new phone as well. I have been doing it like this for years now and since I had been doing a lot of research about the iPhone 11, I knew that was the phone I would be getting. And now… Yes, you might have guessed it… the iPhone 11 is mine! The camera is insane and it works great. Since it is mostly made out of glass, I immediately invested in a screen protector and phone case. I had seen this one from Ideal of Sweden all over Instagram and since I wanted a neutral one, I bought this one.

↣ MY FAVE WORKOUT

Working out at home is a whole other ball game. It’s hard to be motivated and actually do a workout because you’re at home and not used to working out there. So, I tried to make it more fun and do different types of workouts. From my own schedule to body shape and a dance workout. The best dance workouts are definitely the ones from Tanju! I love his energy and the workouts are such big calorie burners. Oh my…

↣ WHAT I LOVE TO WEAR

Comfort above all. That’s what it’s all about. Am I right? During self-isolation I did all types of chores. From painting my room to cleaning out my closet and switching from winter to summer clothing items. That’s also the perfect moment to check what you actually have in your closet and what’s missing. I discovered I have tons of white shirts but I wanted some color. When I saw this oversized lilac shirt, I thought that would shake things up a little. Funny thing is, when I am typing this, I am actually wearing that specific shirt. It’s very simple and I love the oversized look. Just tuck it into jeans and your outfit looks put together and you’re ready (and comfy) for the day!

↣ WHAT I LOVE TO READ

Reading is something I have to do more. I keep on saying this and I really have to start doing it. So, when Danielle (from WeWoreWhat) shared she was bringing out a book, I immediately pre-ordered it. ‘This Is Not A Fashion Story‘ is a book filled with stories from Danielle. Anything from her childhood to her parents divorce and ex boyfriends. I love how you get a look into her life beyond her Instagram and businesses. I started it and almost wasn’t able to put it down. And thanks to Danielle, I am way more into reading again!

↣ BEAUTY PRODUCTS I LOVE

I’ve shared other products from Gisou before and with good reason. The products have an amazing scent and are very nourishing. I have the hair oil, the shampoo, and now I also own the conditioner. One perception I always had about conditioner is that it made my hair look extra thin and very heavy. The conditioner of Gisou definitely doesn’t do that. I use it once a week in combination with the shampoo and love it. Recently I actually got the Gisou Mini Series, so now I can also try the hair mask and heat protecting spray. I am sure I will share more about these products in another blog post…

Washing hands is so important right now. I have always been a clean freak and needed to wash my hands everywhere I go. Right now it’s even worse, so my hands have been suffering a bit. They get so dry and look horrible. My ‘hand saver’? The Eight Hour Cream from Elizabeth Arden. This cream is insane. I use it every single night and my hands have been extremely soft and have not been dry anymore. A new staple in my handbag for sure.

I always seem to forget that I love to write the ‘Loves Lately’ blog posts. When I start, I keep typing and am constantly thinking about the photos I want to take because these are my favorite things at the moment and I am passionate about that. In the end, this is what I am left with. This is such a random list of favorites but it’s something of everything. My absolute fave out of this list? That’s hard but I think my new iPhone 11. It’s so much fun to try all the different features, especially the camera. Maybe I should do more blog posts with just photos taken on my phone… What’s your favorite series, fashion item, workout or beauty product of this moment? Which of mine do you like best?
