Wardrobe Updates For Spring | Essentials: Spring

Flower fields, blue skies and a lot of sunshine. That’s what I envision for spring every year. In The Netherlands spring can be very unpredictable. Some days it might be raining and other days I will be wearing my sunglasses all day long. This is the best feeling in the world. Winter felt like the longest season ever (especially with all the crazy storms lately) and since I can’t wait for spring, I want to share my spring essentials, even before spring officially starts. The updates I’ve added to my wardrobe for spring are: a blazer coat, denim jacket, hoodies, white or beige trousers and leather details!

Beige Blazer Coat: Pull & Bear

Fun fact: I always open the front door for 5 seconds to see what the weather is like. This way I know what coat and type of sneakers I can wear on that specific day. Grabbing a jacket during spring can be hard. In the morning it can be a lot colder than in the afternoon. That’s why I will be having two different jacket on my coat rack: a blazer coat & denim jacket.

◮ Blazer Coat

Finding a good blazer coat in this specific beige color is insanely hard. Since last year I had this type of coat in mind and this one from Pull & Bear matched what I had in mind exactly. I bought it a size up for an oversized fit and therefore I am also able to wear sweaters underneath.

◮ Denim Jacket

Can I get a big YAY for the return of my oversized denim jacket? Yes ladies and gentlemen, I have worn this denim jacket a TON last year. I think everybody needs a good denim jacket, especially a little oversized. So easy to trow on over every outfit!

◮ Hoodies

Of course I wear more blouses during spring then I do in winter. But comfort is always key. So, I will opt more for blouses this season and I will also still wear hoodies all the time. Ever since I got this hoodie from H&M, I have been almost living in it. At first I thought a hoodie would look sloppy. That’s not the case at all. Okay, when you wear it with a pair of sweat pants maybe but with some black skinny jeans, you’re fine.

◮ White or Beige Trousers

Black or grey denim skinny jeans are what I wear on the daily bases. But when the sun shows itself more and there are blue skies most of the day, I tend to want to wear lighter colors, even for trousers. So, during winter I bought these beige corduroy jeans. How old school! I think they are very fun, especially when I pair them with a white blouse, my blazer coat and my black booties.

◮ Leather Details

This might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I have been seeing more leather lately. From (fake) leather pants to leather scrunchies. Unfortunately I don’t own a leather scrunchy but I think it changes the whole look of an outfit when wearing a leather scrunchy in your hair or as an accessory on your wrist. So fun and also very handy when you’re in need for something to put your hair up (the worst feeling in the world when you don’t have a hair elastic with you).

This concludes the updates I’ve made or are making to my wardrobe for this spring season! This spring season is starting a little weird. Right now we are in some type of lock down in The Netherlands. So, I am doing almost everything from and at home right now, even work. It’s strange but it’s all for a good reason. Hopefully soon we will all be able to enjoy the spring weather with each other! What are your spring essentials? Which of mine do you like the best?

Love,

Neeltje

‘YAY’! I love an oversized jacket/blazer. I had to take a break from my oversized denim jacket because I was literally wearing it every time I stepped outside my house lol! It’s so easy to style and super comfortable lol! Hoodies are always a good idea. I live in Washington so while it is nice and sunny at the moment…I’m still wrapped in a blanket 😂 (hello spring, right? lol). I love your pictures and the aesthetic, thanks for sharing doll!
