On Wednesday August 29, 2018 I placed my first ever order at Gisou. From that day, I have created quite a collection you could say. I’ve mentioned their products in previous blog posts, posted about it on Instagram and always talk about Gisou with my friends. I think a lot of people are familiar with Gisou but don’t know much about their products, besides the cute photos on Instagram. So, it’s time. Time for a fully dedicated post about Gisou!
Description: The icon where it all started with. The Honey Infused Hair Oil is all for nourishment of the hair. Like they say themselves, it’s a powerful and independent multitasker.
Current price: €23 – €40 – €77
My thoughts: This was my first Gisou purchase. I was so excited about it because when Negin launched her brand, I was very curious about this hair oil. Before the Honey Infused Hair Oil from Gisou, I had never tried a hair oil before. At first there was only the full size hair oil, which was kind of out of my budget if I just wanted to ‘try’ it. So, I waited (while it was still on my wish list) and my waiting was rewarded. As soon as the travel size dropped, I put it in my shopping cart and ordered it.
When it comes to using the hair oil, you really just need a little bit. A little goes a long way. Just add a little to the palm of your hands and divide it throughout your hair. One thing I don’t like is that your hands stay oily after using it. This isn’t a big thing for me because I am always washing my hands. So, after using the hair oil, I just wash my hands again.
My hair looks so glossy whenever I use it and the scent is insane (in a good way). I love it!
Right now I have the hair oil in three sizes: 50ml, 20ml & 3ml. The 20ml was a limited edition released during the holidays and this one will be great to take on trips with me.
My verdict: ★★★★☆
Description: An intensive nourishing mask to hydrate and replenish hair while improving its elasticity, shine and health. This hair mask is also enriched with Mirsalehi Honey from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden.
Current price: €51
My thoughts: Is it just me or… because I have never understood the hype about hair masks. I always just used a random shampoo and sometimes a conditioner. Never really a hair mask. That was until a couple friends tried the Gisou Hair Mask and were raving about it all. the. time. And you know, when your friends are excited about it and keep recommending it, you have to try it, right?
Since this hair mask is very much on the pricey side, it has been on my wish list for some time. So… for my birthday I actually got the hair mask from my parents. That night I tried it for the first time and I get why people are raving about it. Right now I use it once a week after washing my hair and right after my hair feels soft and smells amazing. It makes my scalp feel nurtured as well (which is very important for me, especially during winter).
Something I still want to try: an overnight mask mixed with some hair oil as well. I think this will leave my hair extremely soft and glossy.
My verdict: ★★★★☆
The Mini Series
Description: The Gisou favorites in smaller sizes. From the Hair Mask & Conditioner to the Hair Wash and lastly, the Heat Protecting Spray. A perfect foursome for first-time Gisou users.
Current price: €49
My thoughts: How cute are these small Gisou products? When they launched The Mini Series, I thought it looked like the perfect gift (because how could you not love a pastel pink packaging with small products inside?). Like stated on their website, it’s a great series to introduce yourself to Gisou. I tried the shampoo and conditioner before but not the hair mask and heat protecting spray. I thought this would be a great purchase because this way I had the mini versions of two items I already had and could refill them all the time.
When it comes to the price, I wouldn’t pay the €49 for this set. Then you might think: but you own it, right? Yes, I do but I got it when it was get 2 for the price of 1. So, mine actually was around €28 with shipping. That’s what made it very interesting for me to buy (even though I already owned the full size shampoo and conditioner).
I do think these sizes are great to take with your on holiday (which I will definitely be doing), to refill (when you have the full size products) and try different Gisou products out (if you haven’t before).
My verdict: ★★★☆☆
Description: A perfume with the signature Gisou fragrance. Like they describe themselves the Hair Perfume has a feminine aroma that leaves behind an irresistible trail of the floral notes from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden.
Current price: €38 – €72
My thoughts: Oh my. This hair perfume… Can we just take a moment? When I got the hair oil, I was extremely into the fragrance of it. That’s what made it a ‘must’ item for me. As soon as the pocket size of the hair perfume was announced, I waited to see the reviews about the fragrance (if it really was that specific scent as the hair oil). When I saw it was, you bet I ordered it within minutes. With the hair perfume, I get to have the Gisou fragrance with me all the time. Even when I didn’t use the hair oil.
The pocket size (50ml) is great to throw into your bag when you’re on the road. For my birthday I decided to treat myself and bought the full size (100ml). The pocket size was almost out but I saved a little so I can take it with me.
I hate strong smelling perfumes. So this hair perfume is great for me. It’s light, feminine and for every occasion. If I could only use one perfume for the rest of my life, this would be it.
My verdict: ★★★★★
I believe this is the most extensive review I’ve ever done. But when it comes to products I’ve been using for some time and I am pleased about the result, of course I want to share it. All of the opinions in this blog post are all mine. And yes, I’ve paid for all the products myself (or gotten them as gifts from friends). If Gisou would send me products, oh my (just to throw it out there)… Back to the review part: if I could only use one of these products for the rest of my life, I definitely go for the hair perfume. I adore it and can’t leave the house without a little sprits. Have you tried Gisou products? If yes, what’s your favorite?
