What to do on a day off when it’s sunny? Plan a trip to the beach of course! Ever since I was little, I visited the beach in Noordwijk with my family. Now I still do. Through the years a lot has changed at the beach, aka new beach clubs opened! My friends and I love to go to the beach and sit down at one of the beach clubs, enjoy drinks and lovely food because it feels like we’re on holiday. On this specific day I hopped on the back of Claudia’s scooter, we drove to Noordwijk and sat down at Strandclub Witsand!
STRANDCLUB WITSAND | ZEEREEP 103, NOORDWIJK
When seeing the photos I took at Witsand, they could look familiar… Why you might ask? Well, I have posted about Branding Beach Club and Tulum Tulum before and Witsand is from the same owner as these beach clubs. Witsand is actually located nearby Tulum Tulum but Witsand is definitely the big sibling of the two and that’s where Claudia and I made a reservation on a sunny morning.
Even though we sat outside (literally on the beach), I did have a peek inside where you are also able to sit. On perfect summer days opt for a table outside but on colder days, it isn’t a punishment to sit inside. The vibe of beach clubs like Witsand give me so much interior inspiration. This is the look I am going for in my future home. Oh, and there are tons of photo opportunities…
Claudia and I actually came here for the burrata… but we didn’t realize they would have a different menu for breakfast. In all honesty, who would eat burrata at 10 in the morning? I love burrata but that’s a bit much. So, we had a look at the breakfast menu and quickly decided we both wanted to get the strawberry waffles with red fruit, banana, strawberry mascarpone and caramel. OF COURSE I asked for the waffles without banana because I hate bananas with a passion. Luckily they didn’t forget to skip the bananas so 10 points for Witsand. When the waffles arrived at our table, they reminded me so much of the pink pancakes from Paco Ciao (duh, because Paco Ciao is also from the same owner, so this dish was definitely a twist on the pink pancakes). For me, the strawberry waffles were the perfect breakfast/brunch dish! Now I feel like I need to get myself a waffle maker so I am able to make them at home as well (dangerous but great idea Neeltje…).
Having breakfast at the beach felt like being abroad and gave me full on vacation vibe. During summer I definitely want to do this again with my friends. Of course, everything is a little different now because of social distancing. At Witsand everything was very well organized. The tables were separated so you had a lot of room to move around. Since it can get very busy at the beach, they work with reservations and you are able to stay there for 1 hour and 45 minutes. This way everyone has a chance to get a table at Witsand. I think they arranged this very well and made me feel very safe, which is nice to know.
Beach days are coming… and I can’t wait! Have you ever had breakfast at the beach? In what city do you go to the beach?
Love,
Neeltje
Looks like paradise!! ❤️✨
